Police Arrest Six in Major Drug Network Bust in Bangkok Community

Bangkok: Police arrested a 70-year-old woman in her bedroom along with drug paraphernalia. A "motorcycle caravan" operation was launched, raiding the Wat Chan Nai community in Bang Kho Laem and arresting six members of a community-level drug network, including the ringleader, "Bo."

According to Thai News Agency, a drug suppression unit from the Bangkok Metropolitan Police Command and Wat Phraya Krai Police Station conducted a raid on a house in the Wat Chan Nai community. The operation followed a report from a drug hotline about a drug dealer and users gathering in a secluded house at the back of the community. The suspect, Mr. Pichanu, known as "Bo," was reportedly violent, intoxicated, and had assaulted family members, even threatening women with a knife. While he admitted to drug use, he denied allegations of rape or engaging in violent behavior.

During the operation, police also encountered a 70-year-old woman who appeared agitated. Upon searching her, they found drug paraphernalia. In a pleading gesture, she clasped her hands together and said, "Please don't arrest me," adding, "You are the one who helped me quit drugs. I will never forget you until the day I die."

In summary, the operation concluded with the arrest of six individuals and the seizure of one ketamine potion and 0.2 grams of crystal methamphetamine. The suspects were charged with "jointly possessing a Category 2 psychoactive substance, jointly concealing or receiving goods that have not undergone customs clearance (ketamine potion)," and possessing and consuming a Category 1 narcotic. They were subsequently brought before the authorities along with the seized items for legal proceedings.
