Police arrest Songkhla man who stole motorcycles and wanted to sell them to solve family problems

Hat Yai police arrested a motorcycle thief who claimed to be drunk and stressed about family issues and wanted to sell the motorcycle to earn money to solve family problems. CCTV footage shows a male culprit riding a motorcycle around as if looking for something before parking his motorcycle and walking into an alley. He then leads a villager's motorcycle out before starting the engine and riding away, then returning to get his own motorcycle that was parked on the side of the road. The incident occurred in Soi 13/4, Kanchanawanit Road, Kho Hong Municipality, Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province. Today (August 4), officers from the motorcycle theft suppression unit of Hat Yai Police Station investigated and tracked the culprit from CCTV footage until they identified him and his residence, which was just one alley away from the alley where he stole the motorcycle. They then arrested him in his room. He was identified as Mr. S (assumed name), aged 34, along with several items of evidence, including the white and red Honda Wave 125i motorcycle used in the crime, as well as another red Honda Wave 110i motorcycle that was stolen, along with the motorcycle keys, license plate, helmet, and the clothes he wore when riding the motorcycle to commit the crime. During the investigation, Mr. S confessed that he was drunk and stressed at the time because he had family problems and did not have enough money to spend. His wife and 3 children had to return to Saba Yoi District, so he wanted to steal a motorcycle to sell to earn money to spend and solve the family's problems.
