Songkhla: Police have denied bail to Mr. Siradanai Plaiduang, also known as “S.J. Golf,” and his associates, who are accused of assaulting a police sergeant at a polling station. The suspects remain in custody as authorities conduct searches across seven locations for additional evidence related to the incident.

According to Thai News Agency, the incident involves Mr. Siradanai Plaiduang, a Provincial Administrative Organization Member for District 7, Songkhla Province, and the son of Mr. Somyot Plaiduang, a Democrat MP for District 3, Songkhla Province. The altercation occurred when Mr. Siradanai allegedly ordered his subordinates to attack Pol. L.t. Nisathit, who was on duty at Polling Station 7 in Tambon Phawong, Amphoe Mueang, Songkhla Province. The confrontation reportedly arose from Mr. Siradanai’s dissatisfaction with being prohibited from taking photographs while voting with his wife.

The Songkhla Provincial Court has issued arrest warrants for seven suspects involved in the incident. Mr. Siradanai, aged 28, is the primary accused, charged with leading the assault. Mr. Phongsak, also known as Nueng Freedom, is accused of orchestrating the attack, while Mr. Num Sek, Mr. Rapipong, Mr. Chakkraphong, Mr. Sasran, and Mr. Sarayut are implicated as accomplices.

All seven suspects are being held at the Songkhla City Police Station, with investigators opposing bail. Mr. Siradanai, accompanied by his father, surrendered to authorities, maintaining an indifferent demeanor. Mr. Somyot Plaiduang briefly addressed the press, stating that he brought his son to surrender to demonstrate innocence.

Pol. Gen. Thanayut Wuticharasathamrong, special advisor to the Royal Thai Police, is leading efforts to gather further evidence. Searches are being conducted at the residences of the suspects in Hat Yai and Mueang Songkhla districts, yielding significant findings, including clothing, mobile phones, and a safe. Pol. Gen. Thanayut emphasized the commitment to prosecuting anyone found involved in concealing evidence.

Following the searches, Pol. Gen. Thanayut revealed that Mr. Siradanai confessed due to the overwhelming evidence, including eyewitness accounts and CCTV footage. The case has attracted national attention, and authorities are determined to dismantle any criminal influence in Songkhla Province to ensure peace and justice for its residents.
