Bangkok: Police Hospital continues to upgrade its medical capabilities by opening a "Heart Center" and a "Center for Emerging Infectious Diseases, Tropical Infectious Diseases, and Tuberculosis." According to Thai News Agency, Police General Kittirat Phanphet, Commissioner General of the Royal Thai Police, presided over the opening ceremony, marking a significant advancement in the hospital's medical service system. This initiative aims to modernize and prepare the facility for future national health challenges. The event was attended by Police Lieutenant General Paiboon Jiamanukulkit, Acting Chief Medical Officer (Level 8), alongside other executives. The newly established Police Hospital Heart Center is set to become a hub for heart disease management, offering comprehensive diagnosis, treatment, and care for heart patients. It will employ state-of-the-art medical equipment and technology, supported by a team of highly skilled specialists. This development is expected to improve access to quality treatmen t, reduce mortality rates, and enhance the quality of life for patients, including police officers, their families, and the general public. In parallel, the center for emerging infectious diseases, tropical infectious diseases, and tuberculosis will play a pivotal role in surveillance, prevention, control, and response to public health emergencies. It will also focus on promoting research, innovation, and collaborative networks with domestic and international agencies to better prepare for potential future infectious diseases. Pol. Gen. Kittirat emphasized that the Royal Thai Police's mission extends beyond maintaining peace and order to include ensuring the welfare, quality of life, and health security of police officers, their families, and the public. He expressed confidence that the two centers will become "centers of hope, centers of knowledge, and centers of medical innovation" adhering to international standards. Pol. Lt. Gen. Paiboon highlighted the complex health challenges currently facing Thaila nd, such as chronic non-communicable diseases, particularly cardiovascular diseases, and emerging infectious diseases with potentially widespread impacts. He stressed the importance of preparing personnel, technology, and service systems, emphasizing the need for collaboration across all sectors to achieve tangible outcomes.
