Police Offer Reward for Capture of Hospital Thief in Maha Sarakham

Maha sarakham: Police have announced a 5,000 baht reward for information leading to the arrest of a thief who broke into Maha Sarakham Hospital and stole belongings from relatives of patients. The thief, taking advantage of nighttime when relatives were asleep, committed four thefts in a single day, causing damages amounting to tens of thousands of baht.

According to Thai News Agency, the suspect was captured on CCTV wearing a hat and face mask to conceal his identity. He stole from relatives inside the hospital and made his escape on a motorcycle. The incidents, which occurred in one day, left relatives distressed, as they were already dealing with the stress of caring for their loved ones.

Following these thefts, three victims filed complaints with the Mahasarakham City Police Station. One victim reported losing 1,000 baht in cash, another lost 3,000 baht, and a third had two mobile phones stolen. Another victim has yet to determine the extent of their losses, bringing the total number of affected individuals to at least four, with damages exceeding 10,000 baht.

Victim representatives Ms. Orawan, 37, and Mrs. Pornsri, 60, expressed their distress, explaining that the thief struck while they were asleep after a long day of caregiving. They shared that the incident had compounded their difficulties.

Police officers have reviewed CCTV footage from the hospital and surrounding areas, but the suspect's concealed appearance has made identification challenging. Authorities suspect that the perpetrator may be familiar with the hospital or local area, as he executed the thefts while victims were sleeping.

The Mahasarakham City Police Station has appealed to the public for assistance in finding the suspect, described as a male in a black jacket, jeans, a white baseball cap, and carrying a shoulder bag, riding a blue Yamaha Spark motorcycle.
