Police Region 9 Commander Ensures Security Preparedness for Cabinet Meeting in Songkhla

Songkhla: The commander of Provincial Police Region 9 has confirmed their readiness to ensure security during the upcoming Cabinet's mobile meeting in Songkhla. This announcement comes amidst concerns about unrest in the southern region.

According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Lt. Gen. Piyawat Chalermsri, the Commander of Provincial Police Region 9, assured that all security measures are in place for the official Cabinet meeting scheduled to take place outside of Bangkok in Songkhla Province next week. Recent unrest in the three southern border provinces has prompted heightened security measures.

Pol. Lt. Gen. Piyawat stated that daily meetings are being conducted with relevant agencies to monitor the situation closely and assess any potential risks. These meetings focus on ensuring overall security in the area, facilitating traffic, and managing all matters related to the Cabinet meeting. The police and military are working in close coordination with the governors of the seven southern provinces to maintain a high level of security for the Prime Minister and national leadership.

In relation to the House of Representatives' Committee on Military and State Security's inquiry about the alleged bullet trajectory from a helicopter, Pol. Lt. Gen. Piyawat mentioned that investigators and forensic experts are actively collecting evidence. He emphasized that the case is being handled with meticulous attention and seriousness by the police.
