Police Uncover Crystal Meth Trafficking Network Using Modified Van

Nakhon sawan: Police have dismantled a significant drug smuggling network after uncovering 150 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine (ice) ingeniously concealed in a modified van. The Metropolitan Police Division 8 revealed this major breakthrough in a press conference, detailing the arrest of those involved in the operation.

According to Thai News Agency, the drug trafficking network was operating along the "Nakhon Sawan - Chiang Rai" route, with the drugs hidden in a specially altered compartment under the van's roof to avoid detection. The arrest occurred at a traffic police booth at Nong Pling Police Station in the Mueang Nakhon Sawan District. The suspects were transporting the drugs from Chiang Rai to central Thailand and Bangkok. The vehicle attracted attention due to its overdue annual vehicle tax, prompting a traffic stop. After the suspects paid the fine, a search led to the discovery of the drugs, and the suspects admitted to being paid 150,000 baht per trip for their efforts.
