Politics at the 98th Academy Awards

Los angeles: At the 98th Academy Awards, or Oscars, this year's biggest success was achieved by politically charged films, which won six awards, amidst protests from several actors against the war. "One Battle After Another," a political thriller, swept the awards ceremony, winning categories such as Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Supporting Actor, Best Editing, and a new award for Best Casting.

According to Thai News Agency, Paul Thomas Anderson, the director and screenwriter of the film about rebels fighting a totalitarian government and subsequently being detained as refugees, took the stage and said that he wrote the screenplay to apologize to children for the chaos his generation left behind in the world, but also to encourage future generations to use their wisdom and bring goodness back to humanity.
