According to Thai News Agency, the Board of Directors of Thai Oil Public Company Limited has appointed Mr. Pongphan Amornvivat as Chief Executive Officer and President, effective February 1, 2026. This decision is rooted in confidence in his leadership potential, strategic thinking, and extensive expertise in the energy industry.
Mr. Pongphan holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and three Master's degrees from prestigious institutions, reflecting his diverse knowledge and global leadership capabilities in the energy industry. His academic background is complemented by leading executive training programs in Thailand, highlighting his preparedness for this significant role.
With over three decades of experience, Mr. Pongphan has been a long-standing employee of Thai Oil, progressing through various roles that have equipped him with a deep understanding of the company's operations. Before his appointment, he served as Senior Vice President for Corporate Strategy at Thai Oil and held key positions at PTT Public Company Limited.
During his tenure at PTT, Mr. Pongphan gained substantial experience in managing the energy and petrochemical sectors. His return to Thai Oil is marked by a commitment to driving projects that yield tangible results and conducting business under ESG principles in collaboration with the PTT Group, ensuring long-term stability.
