Popular Singer Jai Thaithotsamit Seeks Justice After Car Sale Scam

Pathum thani: Popular singer Jai Thaithotsamit is seeking justice after being deceived by a well-known car repair shop in Pathum Thani province. She was tricked into buying a car by the garage without receiving payment. The situation has led her to vow to confront those responsible.

According to Thai News Agency, Jai Thaithotsamit recently appeared on the “Hon Krasae” program with several other victims, revealing that the garage failed to transfer the agreed payment by the scheduled date. On November 16, 2015, Jai, along with her lawyer, approached investigators at the Pathum Thani City Police Station to report the fraud. The issue began in February when Jai took her car to the garage to prepare it for sale. The garage claimed a customer was interested and had applied for financing, asking for more time to finalize the process. However, the garage repeatedly cited delays, from awaiting documents to financing approval, which extended the ordeal from early to mid-year.

Most people who dealt with the garage experienced similar issues, where their cars were sold without receiving payment. Jai contacted the garage owner directly, who confirmed the car was sold and offered a debt acknowledgment document for Jai to sign, which she refused. She set a deadline of November 15th for payment, threatening legal action if unmet. The garage failed to pay by the deadline, prompting Jai to file a fraud complaint with the police, who noted the garage had other pending cases under review at the central office.

During the show, Jai learned that the garage owner misled potential buyers about the car’s condition, claiming it lacked insurance due to damage. The broadcast revealed that Jai’s car had been sold and was located in Chiang Mai. Post-show, Jai expressed relief to Nine Entertain news, as she now has information on the car’s new owner. She plans to resolve the matter by transferring the car to its new owner once the case concludes. Jai emphasized her intent to help other victims reclaim up to 500,000 baht in damages. She will not seek mediation, opting for legal proceedings instead. Jai highlighted the importance of caution, as even reputable garages can fall prey to scams.

The case underscores the challenges faced by Jai and other victims, illustrating the need for vigilance in business dealings. Jai’s pursuit of justice aims to ensure victims recover their losses and avoid similar pitfalls in the future.
