Bangkok: Por Arnop, a popular comedic actor, has expressed his discontent over criticism he received for his keen involvement in political matters.
According to Thai News Agency, Arnop recently posted a picture on his personal Instagram account, showing his attentiveness to the vote counting process in Constituency 16 of Bangkok, specifically at polling stations 57-60 in Khlong Sam Wa district. His actions were aimed at ensuring transparency in the electoral process.
Arnop, speaking to the Nine Entertainment news team, explained his desire to monitor the vote counting process closely, aligning himself with many citizens who observed the proceedings at nearby polling stations. He emphasized the importance of participating in the democratic process and expressed that any Thai citizen has the right to engage in such activities. Arnop noted that the election's outcome will determine the future MPs and the governing political party, but he simply wanted to exercise his right to participate and observe.
Despite receiving praise from some individuals who understood his intentions, Arnop faced criticism from others, including acquaintances who accused him of being overly involved in politics. Arnop clarified that he was not angry but perplexed by the negative comments. He reiterated his right to express his opinion as a Thai citizen and highlighted the importance of understanding the direction in which the country is heading, especially for working-class individuals like himself.
Arnop further stated that regardless of who becomes the 33rd Prime Minister or the MPs in each constituency, he respects the majority vote of the people. He extended his congratulations to the new Prime Minister and expressed hope that the elected officials would fulfill their campaign promises. Arnop urged them to focus on economic development, road safety, pollution control, flood management, and overall advancement of Thailand's development.
