Bangkok: Thai League giants Port FC have announced their continued trust in "Coach Ood" Sarawut Treepun to serve as their head coach for the 2026/27 season, following his excellent performance during his interim tenure.
According to Thai News Agency, leading Port FC to a runner-up finish in the Thai League 2025/26 season, their highest ranking in 27 years, Sarawut Treepun has successfully secured qualification for the AFC Champions League Elite level for the first time. Additionally, he most recently led the team to a 1-0 victory over BG Pathum United, clinching the Muang Thai Cup for the second time in 16 years and earning them participation in the ASEAN Club Championship for the first time.
Despite finishing in second place, Treepun achieved the club's key objective and maintained an undefeated record throughout his tenure. He has become the coach with the longest unbeaten streak across all competitions, with 9 wins, 2 draws, 27 goals scored, and only 7 goals conceded in 11 matches. This impressive performance led the board to officially extend his contract for another year, entrusting him with continuing to manage the team.
Port FC is set to resume pre-season training on June 29, 2026, as they prepare for an ambitious 2026/27 season, competing in five tournaments: the Thai League, Chang FA Cup, Muangthai Cup, AFC Champions League Elite level, and the ASEAN Club Championship.
