Power Restoration Efforts Underway on Chalong Krung Road After Fallen Power Poles

Bangkok: MEA (Metropolitan Electricity Authority) has mobilized a team to handle the incident of a fallen power pole on Chalong Krung Road and is working to restore the power system as quickly as possible. MEA is urgently mobilizing teams to address the incident of fallen power poles on Chalong Krung Road. The Deputy Minister of Interior and the MEA Governor have visited the site to expedite the restoration of the power system.

According to Thai News Agency, MEA reported on the progress on the evening of June 26, 2026, following a thunderstorm with strong winds and a whirlwind that caused power poles to fall on Chalong Krung Road. MEA dispatched a team of engineers and staff to the area to urgently address the electrical system issues and closely monitor the damage, in preparation for immediate repairs and restoration of the power supply.

In this regard, Mr. Worasit Liengprasit, Deputy Minister of Interior, along with Mr. Dichawat Chan-ee, Governor of MEA, have visited the scene of the incident to closely monitor the situation. The senior management and MEA express their deepest condolences to those injured and affected by this accident, and are ready to coordinate full assistance and care for those affected.

Currently, MEA has mobilized all available resources, including heavy machinery and backup power equipment, to expedite the removal of fallen poles and power lines obstructing traffic, reopening routes, and installing new poles and lines. Work teams have been divided into multiple locations to ensure speed and efficiency. MEA has planned a phased power restoration effort, with power expected to be gradually restored to the industrial estate area tonight and fully restored to surrounding areas by this morning.
