Hat yai: The Minister of Public Health stated that the power supply to Hat Yai Hospital has been restored.

According to Thai News Agency, the Minister of Public Health reported that while power has been restored at Hat Yai Hospital, the situation remains unstable. Efforts are underway to transport patients to nearby hospitals, and helicopters have been requested for further patient transport.

Public Health Minister Phatthana Promphat addressed the current situation after attending a meeting on flood relief in the southern provinces. He explained that although the hospital’s electrical system is operational to some extent, it remains unstable. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has provided helicopter support to transport two ICU patients, including infants, to Songklanagarind Hospital. Additional support from other hospitals has been arranged, and further helicopters have been requested. Mr. Phatthana assured that the medical team is providing full care to the patients.

In response to inquiries from reporters, Mr. Phatthana acknowledged that several ICU patients are currently stranded at the hospital, though exact numbers are still being gathered. He expressed his commitment to evacuating as many patients as possible by the end of the day. Despite the high water level, which is nearly two meters, damage to the hospital has yet to be assessed. He stated that compensation would be addressed later, with efforts currently focused on resolving the immediate situation as a temporary measure.
