Bangkok: PPRP parliamentary candidates are calling for "Big Pom" (General Prawit Wongsuwan) to make a comeback, citing dissatisfaction with the current executive committee's direction. The candidates are urging the former leader to return and restore confidence within the party.

According to Thai News Agency, a group of Palang Pracharath Party (PPRP) parliamentary candidates gathered to demand clarity on policy and internal party management. They submitted demands for General Prawit Wongsuwan, the party's chief advisor and former leader, to return to leadership to restore confidence among candidates and party members for the upcoming election. However, fewer than 10 candidates arrived at the meeting, despite expectations of over 100 attendees. Mr. Pakornthorn was expected to receive the candidates' demands on behalf of the party, but no senior party member appeared.

Mr. Suphasit Soraphasjirapong, a candidate for Chonburi Constituency 4, stated that the candidates sought clarification on support and guidance for constituency and party-list MPs during the election campaign. He expressed concerns about the lack of policy support and campaign strategy from senior party members. He emphasized the need for teams to support constituency MPs and provide campaign assistance nationwide, contrasting this with General Prawit's previous leadership style.

Mr. Suphasit further stated that candidates feel abandoned, lacking clear campaign strategies and support. He highlighted the importance of General Prawit's leadership in providing policy directives and campaign clarity. He expressed concern over the potential impact on the February 8th election if the issues remain unresolved.

Kittisak Krutprasert, a candidate for the party-list MP position, noted that the resignation of General Prawit has demoralized the party's MP candidates. He emphasized the need for a "kick-off" event to present policies to candidates, highlighting the success of other parties in holding such events. He expressed confidence in the Palang Pracharath Party's strengths but urged the leadership to seize the opportunity.

Ms. Natthaporn Faramee, a candidate for Nakhon Phanom Constituency 4, stated that candidates had previously requested clarification on campaign strategies but received no response. She emphasized the need for systematic internal party management and respect for candidates. She urged the party to address the issue of potential funding cuts and lack of respect from the executive committee.

Mr. Ibrahim Tohilai, a candidate for Pattani Constituency 2, shared his previous experience with the party and expressed regret over the current situation. He conveyed the candidates' disappointment in the absence of General Prawit and highlighted the continued respect for him, particularly in the South. He expressed sadness over the lack of campaign resources and support.
