Prachinburi Factory Wastewater Issue Clarified by Authorities

Prachinburi:The Prachinburi Provincial Industrial Office has addressed concerns regarding factory wastewater, dismissing rumors and confirming that the surface water test results meet established standards.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Varawut Silpa-archa, Minister of Industry, stated he received a report from Mr. Apirak Amsuriya, the Prachinburi Provincial Industry Officer, about alleged water contamination from an industrial estate flowing into rice fields in Wang Dan Subdistrict. An investigation by local authorities and factory operators found no wastewater leakage from treatment ponds, and external water inspections showed clear, normal conditions.

Subsequent inspections by the Prachinburi Provincial Office of Industrial Works and other local officials at the Phet Oem sluice gate found no abnormalities in water quality. Tests conducted by the Bo Thong 33 Industrial Estate indicated normal pH levels, low mineral content, and no chemical contamination. High natural sediment caused turbidity, but oxygen levels were adequate, ensuring no harm to aquatic life.

The local industrial office has mandated cautious operation of wastewater treatment plants and will enforce strict compliance with regulations. They will also engage with local residents to clarify the situation.
