Bangkok: The Prime Minister has stated that the opposition cannot be prevented from submitting a censure motion. He further inquired of the media about the issue with delaying the dissolution of Parliament until January 31st, though he did not confirm any dissolution dates, citing numerous daily challenges that require his attention. He also dismissed criticism from the Pheu Thai Party spokesperson regarding the delay in addressing issues.
According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Anutin Charnvirakul, questioned the appropriateness of the opposition’s preparations to submit a no-confidence motion after only a month in office and how such actions could be prevented. Despite the challenges faced, the Prime Minister asked what specific problems were causing the delay, with reporters mentioning the scammer problem among others. The Prime Minister noted that these were issues requiring daily work and did not confirm any timeline for the dissolution of Parliament.
When questioned about the Green Line’s fare increase, Mr. Anutin stated that he would need to consult with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn. Moreover, in response to the Pheu Thai Party’s criticism of the government’s slow response to scammers, the Prime Minister asked for the source of the criticism. Upon learning it was from a Pheu Thai Party spokesperson, he replied that he did not recognize the individual.
