Phnom Penh: The Prime Minister met with Samdech Hun Sen on the occasion of his official visit to Cambodia, emphasizing the close Thai-Cambodian relationship, moving forward with trade and investment cooperation, and dealing with the volatile global economic situation.

According to Thai News Agency, today at the Senate House of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister, paid a courtesy call on Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate and President of the Privy Council of the Kingdom of Cambodia. The meeting underscored the warm relations between Thailand and Cambodia, with both leaders highlighting the importance of their shared history and ongoing collaboration.

The Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and noted the significance of this visit in the context of the 75th anniversary of Thai-Cambodian diplomatic relations. This visit marks the second instance of a Thai Prime Minister visiting Cambodia since Samdech Hun Manet assumed office. Both leaders took the opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences, further cementing the longstanding ties between their nations.

During the discussions, the focus was placed on enhancing peace and prosperity for both countries through reinforced cooperation. The leaders emphasized their commitment to bolstering economic cooperation, specifically in trade and investment, as a response to global economic uncertainties. The Prime Minister also sought support from Samdech Hun Sen to further strengthen bilateral relations, aiming to improve the well-being, safety, and economic security of both nations’ citizens.
