Bangkok: Prime Minister Anutin, alongside the National Police Chief, has revealed the outcomes of the “Operation Intercept Drugs” carried out from September to October 2025, which successfully dismantled nine significant drug networks and resulted in the arrest of 16 suspects.
According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, together with National Police Chief Pol. Gen. Kittirat Phanphet and other officials, announced the substantial results of the recent drug busts. The operations led to the dismantling of nine major drug networks, the arrest of 16 suspects, and the seizure of 18.25 million methamphetamine pills, 1,488 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, and 29 kilograms of ketamine.
Anutin emphasized his commitment to drug suppression by integrating all available resources and preparing to engage in aggressive measures against drug dealers and producers. During his tenure at the Ministry of Interior, numerous drug seizures have been achieved. The government remains fully dedicated to supporting the Royal Thai Police in terms of technology and establishing a “systemic mechanism” designed as a permanent approach to combating all forms of crime. Anutin assured that efforts to combat drugs will be accelerated, working in collaboration with all sectors to eradicate drugs from Thailand.
Pol. Gen. Kittirat highlighted the joint effort between the police, the Ministry of Interior, the Narcotics Suppression Bureau, and the Office of the Narcotics Control Board. During the crackdown from September to October 2015, the Royal Thai Police dismantled nine major drug networks, apprehended 16 suspects, and seized a total of 18.25 million methamphetamine pills, 1,488 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, and 29 kilograms of ketamine. This operation underscored the determination to intercept drug trafficking routes from the border to the capital.
The Narcotics Suppression Bureau (NSB) successfully targeted six major networks, executing operations that included raiding a drug warehouse in Nakhon Phanom, intercepting a smuggling vehicle in Saraburi, and seizing millions of methamphetamine pills in various regions.
Additionally, the Metropolitan Police Bureau’s Patrol and Special Operations Division (PSD) dismantled a large drug network in Suphan Buri, while the Border Patrol Police (BPP) executed successful operations against drug smuggling along the Mekong River and in Bueng Kan Province.
In the past year, the Royal Thai Police have conducted 265,446 drug-related arrests, involving 265,109 suspects, and seized assets worth 14.9 billion baht. Mr. Anutin reiterated the importance of continued crackdowns, preventive measures, and coordinated efforts between administrative bodies and police to combat drug trafficking and distribution, including seeking international cooperation for suspects residing abroad.
