Sydney: The Prime Minister has begun his official visit to Australia, leading a delegation in comprehensive discussions aimed at benefiting the Thai people.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, announced that Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, along with his delegation, departed from Don Mueang Air Force Base (Wing 6) to Sydney, Australia. The official visit is scheduled from August 17-20, 2026. Following the Australian visit, the delegation will continue to Auckland, New Zealand, for another official visit from August 20-22, 2026.
The Prime Minister and his team are expected to land at Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport at approximately 9:05 PM local time, which is three hours ahead of Thailand time. This marks the first visit by a Thai Prime Minister to Australia in 14 years and is set to strengthen the bilateral relations between the two nations.
The official delegation accompanying the Prime Minister includes several key figures: Mr. Ekniti Nitithanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance; Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkaew, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Chulaphan Amornvivat, Minister of Labour; Ms. Sabida Thaiseth, Minister of Culture; Ms. Piyarat Tiyapairat, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives; Ms. Traisuli Traisaranakul, Secretary to the Prime Minister; and Mr. Narut Teodsathirasak, Secretary-General of the Board of Investment.
The visit, extended by The Honourable Anthony Albanese, Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Australia, includes a series of high-level engagements. The itinerary features official discussions with the Australian Prime Minister, a vision presentation at the Lowy Institute, meetings with leading Australian companies, participation in a networking reception, and a visit to the Thai community in Thai Town.
