Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul Deflects Plastic Pellet Discussion to Supajee Wongsawat

Bangkok: Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul deflected inquiries regarding discussions about plastic pellets to Supajee Wongsawat after a series of high-level meetings. The discussions involved critical stakeholders, including Russian Ambassador to Thailand Yevgeny Tomikhin and key Thai ministers such as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sihasak Phuangketkaew, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce Supajee Suthamphan. The meeting, which lasted about an hour, also included the Minister of Industry Voravudh Silpa-archa and other senior executives.

According to Thai News Agency, the meeting's agenda centered around the rising price and shortage of plastic pellets, a concern exacerbated by geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and the strategic Strait of Hormuz's uncertain status. Despite the significance of the topic, when Prime Minister Anutin was asked by reporters about the outcomes of the plastic pellet discussion, he deflected the question, indicating that Ms. Supajee would provide further details. He mentioned his prior commitment to a senior citizens' event before directing reporters to Supajee for more information.

In a brief interaction with the media, Warawut Chan-o-cha, another participant in the meeting, expressed a positive sentiment by stating, "Very Good," accompanied by an "OK" hand gesture and a thumbs-up, signaling satisfaction with the discussions. Earlier in the day, Supajee and Warawut convened a meeting specifically to address strategic approaches to the plastic pellet crisis, highlighting the urgency and importance of the issue at hand.
