Chiang mai: The Prime Minister encouraged officials and inspected the readiness of helicopters for fighting forest fires and vehicles for measuring PM2.5 dust. Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, along with his cabinet, visited the 7th Infantry Division's air base in Mae Rim District, Chiang Mai Province, to inspect the readiness of disaster relief helicopters and field operations teams.
According to Thai News Agency, the Prime Minister inspected the readiness of helicopters from various agencies, including the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, the Ministry of Interior, the Royal Thai Army, the Ministry of Defence, and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. All helicopters were fully equipped with pilots and rescue teams ready for operation.
The Prime Minister also inspected the readiness of large-scale mobile PM2.5 and air pollution monitoring stations belonging to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, which have been installed in various high-risk locations for close monitoring and tracking of the situation. The air quality data will primarily be used to alert the public via the Air4Thai application.
