Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul Presides Over Buddhist Ceremony for Health Initiative Amulet

Bangkok: Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul attended the grand Buddhist consecration ceremony for the Luang Pu Thuad amulet, "Healthy and Safe" edition. The event took place at Wat Huay Mongkol, located in the Thap Tai Subdistrict, Hua Hin District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. The ceremony focused on the "Disease-Free and Safe" edition of the amulet, with proceeds aimed at bolstering the national healthcare system.

According to Thai News Agency, the Prime Minister engaged in various ceremonial activities, including paying respects to Phra Phisal Sitthikun, the abbot of Wat Huay Mongkol, and participating in a Dharma discussion. The ceremony involved traditional rituals such as lighting candles to worship the Triple Gem, reciting prayers, and monks chanting Buddhist prayers. The Prime Minister also offered alms, gifts to the monks, and participated in symbolic acts of receiving blessings, concluding with the monks sprinkling holy water.

The creation of the Luang Pu Thuad "Disease-Free and Safe" amulet as a commemorative coin is spearheaded by the Foundation for the Development of Health Centers in Commemoration of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit's 60th Birthday. The initiative aims to use the proceeds to support 92 royal-sponsored health centers nationwide, as well as operations of the central foundation. This effort is part of a broader strategy to upgrade the primary healthcare system using digital technology and medical equipment to enhance service efficiency.

The Foundation for the Promotion of Health Service (FPH) plays a crucial role as a central agency in transforming 92 FPH centers into "model health centers." These centers are designed to provide reliable healthcare resources, particularly in remote areas, and strengthen the primary healthcare system. The goal is to ensure comprehensive, high-quality, and sustainable care for all citizens.
