Canberra: A 19-gun salute was fired to welcome Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul on his official visit to Australia, before a small group discussion was held to further develop the strategic partnership between Thailand and Australia. Today, at 9:00 AM local time in Canberra, at the Ceremonial Forecourt in front of the Australian Parliament House, Prime Minister and Minister of Home Affairs Anutin Charnvirakul participated in the official welcoming ceremony on the occasion of his official visit to the Commonwealth of Australia.
According to Thai News Agency, upon the arrival of the Thai Prime Minister at the Australian Parliament House, the Honourable Anthony Albanese MP warmly welcomed him before escorting him to the official welcoming ceremony at the Ceremonial Forecourt. A 19-gun salute was fired, after which the Prime Minister inspected the honor guard amidst the playing of both the Thai and Australian national anthems. Following this, both Prime Ministers introduced their respective delegations. The welcoming ceremony was conducted with great honor and dignity, reflecting the close friendship and importance of the relationship between Thailand and Australia.
Following the welcoming ceremony, the Prime Minister and the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Australia proceeded into Parliament House. The Prime Minister signed the guest book in the Marble Foyer and posed for commemorative photographs with the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Australia, in accordance with Australian customary receptions for high-ranking foreign guests.
Following this, the two Prime Ministers held a small group discussion in the Australian Prime Minister's office in a friendly and constructive atmosphere. They exchanged views on ways to further strengthen and concretize the Thai-Australian strategic partnership, and discussed issues of mutual importance, including economic cooperation, reducing obstacles and facilitating trade, and cooperation in preventing and suppressing transnational and online crime.
Both sides will exchange experiences and approaches to addressing common challenges, while reaffirming their commitment to continuously advance Thai-Australian relations and transform existing cooperation into tangible results for the benefit of the people of both countries.
Following the conclusion of small group discussions, both Prime Ministers participated in a full bilateral meeting to discuss ways to expand cooperation between Thailand and Australia in various aspects.
