Bangkok: Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul chaired a meeting at Government House, expressing gratitude to 14 retiring heads of government departments. He emphasized the importance of permanent secretaries working collaboratively, akin to a "group chat," to ensure seamless coordination and expedite work for the benefit of the public.

According to Thai News Agency, the meeting marked the 2nd Meeting of Heads of Government Agencies at the Permanent Secretary level or equivalent for the year 2026. It was organized by the Prime Minister's Secretariat and attended by Ms. Traisaranakul, Secretary to the Prime Minister, along with other senior officials and executives from various government bodies.

Mr. Ekkapop Pienpises, Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, highlighted that this was the final meeting for several permanent secretaries before their retirement on September 30, 2026. During the gathering, those retiring shared their experiences and entrusted their ongoing tasks to successors.

The Prime Minister observed that the civil service system had evolved, encouraging more open communication and suggestions from civil servants. He advocated for a less formal approach among permanent secretaries to expedite initiatives and deliver concrete outcomes.

Anutin assured that the responsibilities of the retiring officials would be carried forward, with new appointments based on recommendations from the outgoing permanent secretaries. He requested the retiring officials to remain available for any tasks until their official retirement date at the end of September.

The retiring officials expressed their gratitude for the cooperation they received throughout their tenure, which facilitated the successful implementation of government policies. They voiced confidence in the continued collaborative efforts under the Prime Minister's leadership, which they believe will enhance public administration and benefit the nation.

The retiring heads of government departments include notable figures such as Ms. Yupapha Thawiwattanakitbaworn, Mr. Thanat Suwannanon, and Mr. Anan Kaewkamnerd, among others. Their collective contributions have supported the government's strategic objectives and paved the way for future advancements in their respective areas.
