Bangkok: The Prime Minister reiterated that there will be no compromise in the local government examination corruption case. All agencies are competing to do their work, and the public can rest assured that everything is proceeding according to the law.
According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul addressed the question of whether other ministries, particularly the assistant teacher exam, would be instructed to investigate the alleged corruption in local government exams. He stated that the public can rest assured that there are currently four main agencies investigating the matter. The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) has already made a clear statement, indicating that the investigation is being conducted independently, with the NACC chairman himself chairing the sub-committee.
The Prime Minister added that the Ministry of Interior has also dismissed those suspected of being involved in or having an impact on the case from their positions and has established an investigation committee to ensure a thorough investigation.
The Prime Minister further stated that, in his capacity as Prime Minister, the Prime Minister's Office has established a committee to investigate the facts and legal aspects of the alleged corruption in the 2025 competitive examination for the recruitment of civil servants or local government employees. This committee is chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Pakorn Nilapraphan and includes the Minister of Justice, the National Police Chief, the Attorney General, and the Secretary-General of the Public Sector Anti-Corruption Commission (P.P.T.). This committee can cover issues outside the Ministry of Interior, as the report indicates that the involvement extends beyond the Ministry, including agents and brokers from outside the ministry.
The Prime Minister stated that he had just spoken on the phone with Mr. Pakorn and received a report that the National Police Chief would proceed with the investigation of the perpetrators. He emphasized that today, the investigation is a cutthroat competition, with no room for compromise. Simply put, no authority can interfere with or override the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) or Mr. Pakorn's committee. Everything is proceeding according to legal mechanisms.
