Bangkok: The Prime Minister is waiting for the Election Commission to certify the results before forming a new government. He instructed the Cabinet to continue working at full capacity, urged immediate study on terminating MOU 44, and assigned Paradorn to urgently follow up on funding for public assistance.
According to Thai News Agency, at the Cabinet meeting, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul congratulated all ministers who received the public's trust in the elections, both through the constituency and party-list systems. Although unofficial results are now known, the process by the Election Commission (EC) is still ongoing.
Mr. Anutin stated that, as the leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, which has been entrusted with the opportunity to lead the formation of the government, he will wait for the Election Commission to officially certify the election results before beginning the process of forming a new government. This is to ensure compliance with the law and the will of the people. He also emphasized that the current Cabinet must continue to perform its duties fully until the new Cabinet takes office.
The Prime Minister has issued important instructions, including assigning Mr. Paradorn Prisnanantakul, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office, to follow up on the budget and projects to assist the public that were delayed during the election period, and to expedite their implementation in order to alleviate the suffering of the people comprehensively.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defence were instructed to study ways to cancel the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) 44, prioritizing the national interest above all else.
