Bangkok: The Prime Minister entered the Thai Khu Fah Building to pay respects to the Narasingh statue and called for a meeting on the Thai-Cambodian border. Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul convened an urgent security meeting at the Thai Khu Fah building to discuss the Thai-Cambodian border situation. The meeting was attended by Defense Minister General Nataphol Nakphanit, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces General Ukkrit Boontanon, Army Commander-in-Chief General Pana Klaewplodthuk, Navy Commander-in-Chief Admiral Pairoj Fueangchan, Air Chief Marshal Seksan Kantha, Air Force Commander-in-Chief Mr. Arsit Sampantharat, Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Interior, Department of Provincial Administration Director-General Narucha Kosasivilai, National Security Council Secretary-General Chatchai Bangchuad, and officials from various sectors.
According to Thai News Agency, the Prime Minister arrived at 8:41 a.m. and immediately entered the Thai Khu Fah Building to pay homage to the Narasingha statue before the meeting began. The Army Commander-in-Chief had a serious expression and did not respond to reporters. The Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Armed Forces briefly told reporters that he would wait for the results after the meeting.
National Police Chief Pol. Gen. Kittirat Panphet stated that he has ordered the implementation of a rear area protection plan to ensure public safety. He has also ordered traffic management, while Border Patrol Police (BPP) have been ordered to support forward forces already in their normal operational areas. As for the evacuation of people, only some areas remain, requiring expedited action. Preparations have already been made in Sa Kaeo Province, including the deployment of riot control units (CPC) as support units. They are currently awaiting military orders, including those from the Second Army Area.
