Prime Minister Establishes Monitoring Center for Middle East Conflict

Bangkok: The Prime Minister has officially signed an order to establish the Ministry of Interior's combat situation monitoring center. This initiative, led by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, aims to integrate the operations of affiliated government agencies and coordinate actions with both the central government and provinces for consistency in managing the conflict in the Middle East region.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Arsit Sampanrat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, announced that Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul signed Ministry of Interior Order No. 736/2569, dated March 25, 2026. This order focuses on the establishment of the "Center for Management and Monitoring of the Conflict in the Middle East" under the Ministry of Interior to address and mitigate the impact of the ongoing conflict.

The Permanent Secretary emphasized that the order aims to effectively address the conflict's impact on the country. The Ministry of Interior is tasked with alleviating suffering, promoting well-being, and maintaining peace, necessitating a ministerial-level agency to integrate operations and coordinate efforts with the central government and provinces.

The newly established Center has six primary functions: monitoring, analyzing, and evaluating the situation; integrating operations of related organizations; defining guidelines and measures for public assistance; directing and coordinating operations at various administrative levels; reporting on the situation and operations; disseminating accurate public information; and performing additional assigned duties.

The Center's composition includes key figures such as the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior as the Director, with Deputy Directors from various departments and authorities, including the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration. The structure also involves several Director-Generals, advisors, and assistant secretaries, ensuring comprehensive oversight and management of the conflict response.
