Bangkok: "Uncle Nu," formally known as Anutin Charnvirakul, extended his heartfelt wishes to the Thai student representatives set to compete in a prestigious music competition in the Netherlands. The Prime Minister and Minister of Interior encouraged the young musicians to invest their heart and soul into their performances, hoping they would return victorious.
According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul chaired the Cabinet meeting before which he met with the administrators, teachers, and students from the Benjamarachutit School Band of Chanthaburi Province. These students are preparing to participate in the 20th World Music Competition in Kerkade, Netherlands, scheduled from July 12-23, 2026. The meeting was attended by several prominent figures, including Deputy Prime Ministers Mr. Ekniti Nitithanpraphas, Mrs. Supajee Suthamphan, and Mr. Yotsanun Wongsawat, among others.
During his address, the Prime Minister expressed his admiration for the students' musical talents, emphasizing the honor they bring to Thailand on an international stage. He shared personal anecdotes, reminiscing about his time as a member of a band, and expressed his eagerness to hear the students perform upon their return. Anutin assured the students of his confidence in their abilities and urged them to present their best selves as cultural ambassadors for Thailand.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the importance of precision and emotional expression in their performances. He encouraged the students to maintain their health and rest adequately to ensure optimal performance. With the entire nation cheering them on, Anutin emphasized the cultural significance of their participation and wished them success.
The gathering concluded with a group photo session, where the students eagerly took selfies with the Prime Minister. As a token of appreciation, the school presented Anutin with local fruits from Chanthaburi province. The event ended with photo opportunities in front of the Thai Khu Fah building.
Before the Cabinet meeting commenced, it was noted that two Cabinet members, Mr. Chaiyanok Chidchob and Mr. Polpira Suwannachavi, were absent from the day's proceedings.
