Prime Minister Follows Up on Crane Collapse Incidents in Sikhiu District and Rama 2 Road

Bangkok: The Prime Minister is actively monitoring the progress of directives issued concerning the crane collapse incidents in Sikhiu District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, and on Rama 2 Road. Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul led a Cabinet meeting at Room 501, Command Building 1, Government House, where he emphasized the importance of addressing these issues.

According to Thai News Agency, the Prime Minister informed the meeting participants that, following discussions with relevant agencies, directives were issued to address the crane collapses and associated road subsidence. He requested updates from the responsible agencies on the progress of these matters, ensuring that all developments are reported back to the Cabinet.

The Prime Minister has instructed the Ministry of Transport, the Office of the Insurance Commission, and other relevant agencies to consider compensation for fatalities and medical expenses for those injured in the incidents. Additionally, he directed the Ministry of Transport to consider terminating the contract with the construction company involved and to investigate the incident's cause to hold those responsible accountable. The Prime Minister stressed that the contract termination and investigation should be conducted promptly and cautiously to prevent recurring incidents.
