Nonthaburi:The Prime Minister presided over the 19th National Health Assembly at the IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center in Muang Thong Thani, emphasizing the importance of holistic health strategies to address an aging society and promote economic growth through wellness initiatives.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, delivered a special address highlighting the theme "Well-being and Empowerment Positive Public Policy with Heart." The event was attended by key figures, including Mr. Pattana Promphat, Minister of Public Health, and Mr. Suchart Chomklin, along with representatives from various sectors.

The assembly began with a tribute to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit and Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha. Mr. Ekkapop Pienpises, Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, reported that the Prime Minister emphasized the need for policy adjustments to support the elderly, reduce the caregiving burden on working-age families, and foster a sustainable health system. The Prime Minister also underscored the assembly's role as a neutral platform for diverse stakeholder engagement in public health policy formulation.

The Prime Minister highlighted Thailand's telemedicine system and fiscal discipline as essential components in managing an aging society while ensuring economic productivity. He referred to discussions from the recent IMF-World Bank meeting on economic growth and demographic shifts, noting the need for strategic resource allocation in healthcare.

Thailand's Universal Health Coverage (UHC) system and village health volunteers were praised as key strengths. However, the Prime Minister acknowledged the ongoing need to develop the healthcare system to meet increasing demands. He outlined the government's vision for holistic healthcare, integrating wellness industry development with traditional Thai knowledge and modern science.

The assembly concluded with the Prime Minister's symbolic opening of the event, attended by various dignitaries and youth representatives, reinforcing a commitment to enhancing Thailand's healthcare system and quality of life.
