Bangkok: The Prime Minister visited the site of the crane collapse on Rama 2 Road. Officials revealed that the area has been cleared and will be completed within 14 days. The Department of Highways has established a fact-finding committee as ordered by the Prime Minister, and a conclusion is expected within 7 days. According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, along with Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior Arsit Sampanrat, Director-General of the Department of Public Works and Town Planning Pongnara Yenying, officials from the Department of Highways, and other relevant agencies, inspected the site and received updates on the crane collapse incident that occurred on Rama 2 Road in Samut Sakhon Province. Upon arrival, the Prime Minister received a report from Samut Sakhon Governor Amnat Charoensri and Police Major General Teeradet Athiphakkul, Commander of the Samut Sakhon Provincial Police. Pol. Maj. Gen. Teeradet reported that there were two fataliti es and two minor injuries. Regarding the progress of the case, two of the technicians on duty have already been questioned. Regarding compensation, the Governor of Samut Sakhon Province reported that the first injured person, Mr. Sompong, received a death benefit of 6,100 baht and compensation under the Motor Vehicle Act of 35,000 baht, totaling 41,000 baht. Another individual, Mr. Sarawut, received a retirement benefit of 50,000 baht and compensation under the Motor Vehicle Act of 35,000 baht, totaling 40,000 baht. In addition, Mr. Sarawut has life insurance policies from two companies, with amounts of 720,000 baht and 1,000,000 baht respectively. Furthermore, officials clarified that clearing the area is expected to take no more than two weeks. As for the fact-finding investigation, the Department of Highways has appointed a committee to investigate and reach a conclusion within seven days, as instructed by the Prime Minister. Mr. Anutin then put on a safety helmet and went to inspect the site where the crane had collapsed onto the car, preventing the media from following him as it was a dangerous area.
