Prime Minister Intervenes in Phuket Governor Transfer Controversy

Bangkok: The Prime Minister intervened in the drama surrounding the Deputy Governor's threat to transfer the Phuket Governor. The Prime Minister gave policy directives to the Ministry of Interior, and addressed the controversy surrounding the deputy governor's threat to transfer the Phuket governor at the meeting. He affirmed that there was no conflict before proceeding to the opening of a public relations event for the "Thai Helps Thai Plus Food Delivery" project at Government House.

According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul chaired a policy meeting at the Ministry of Interior, instructing governors nationwide to expedite assistance to citizens through all available resources, working at full efficiency to ensure comprehensive coverage for the public. He also directed them to support citizens through the "Thai Helps Thai Plus" project and the state welfare card program, and to upgrade the cell broadcast system in preparation for the rainy season, following the lessons learned from the flooding crisis in Hat Yai district.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister addressed the social media rumors that a deputy governor would dismiss the governor of Phuket, possibly linked to influential figures in the area. He summoned the deputy governor, nicknamed "Seafood," who stated he would provide a written clarification. Ultimately, the Prime Minister ordered a swift investigation to ascertain the facts before his departure to Russia tomorrow.

Mr. Anutin then gave an interview to the media regarding the issues discussed in the meeting room, confirming that there were no conflicts or disagreements.

The Prime Minister returned to Government House to inaugurate the "Thai Helps Thai Plus" project for food delivery services. The event featured the launch of "Nok Krasip," an AI assistant for merchants using the "Thung Ngern" (Money Bag) service for cost analysis and accounting. Abigail, a popular delivery service presenter, also attended the event.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Ekniti Nitithamprabha, emphasized that the core objective is to help reduce the cost of living for the public, and invited participating businesses to choose which platform they want to sell on.

Mr. Ekniti reiterated that there will be no review of the 200 billion baht loan for the energy transition, believing that even if the Middle East conflict ends, oil prices will remain high.
