Prime Minister Lauds OTOP City 2025 for Record Sales of Over 830 Million Baht

Nonthaburi: The Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Anutin Charnvirakul, visited the OTOP City 2025 event on its final day, praising the remarkable sales that surpassed 830 million baht. He engaged with entrepreneurs to motivate them to enhance product quality, ensuring they are appealing to consumers and proudly made in Thailand, thus reinforcing a stable and sustainable grassroots economy.

According to Thai News Agency, Anutin Charnvirakul was joined by Ms. Thanon Nirami, Chairperson of the Cabinet Spouses Association and Honorary Advisor of the Ministry of Interior Wives Association, as well as other officials including Ms. Sasithorn Kittithornkul, Deputy Minister of Interior, and Mr. Siam Sirimongkol, Director-General of the Department of Community Development. They visited various zones at the OTOP City 2025 event, held at Challenger 1-3, IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, Muang Thong Thani, providing support and advice to local entrepreneurs.

During the visit, Anutin and his team explored different sections including the OTOP Food Zone, the Fun with Thai Fabrics Zone, the Handicrafts for the International Market Zone, and the OTOP Artist Zone. They encouraged entrepreneurs to improve their products to better meet consumer demands. Visitors to the event also provided feedback to Anutin on enhancing OTOP products, which he relayed to the Department of Community Development for further action.

The event, held from December 20-28, 2025, generated over 830 million baht in sales, marking a more than 20% increase from the previous year. The final day saw a high turnout, leading to insufficient parking at the venue. Interviews with attendees revealed a strong preference for purchasing from OTOP entrepreneurs, especially those participating in the government's co-payment scheme.

The most popular product categories were: 1. Five OTOP categories, exceeding 400 million baht; 2. OTOP artist zone, exceeding 80 million baht; 3. OTOP food zone, exceeding 50 million baht; 4. Partner networks, exceeding 30 million baht; and 5. OTOP Premium, exceeding 25 million baht.
