Bangkok: A merit-making ceremony was held to commemorate the 100th day since the passing of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. The Prime Minister and his wife presided over a religious ceremony commemorating the 100th day since the passing of Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha. Cabinet members, government officials, and Government House staff participated in the ceremony, followed by an alms-giving ceremony to 47 monks.

According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and his wife led the 100-day memorial service to honor Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendira Debyavadi, Krom Luang Rajasarinisiripatchara Mahavajrarajathida. The ceremony saw attendance from cabinet ministers, their spouses, heads of government agencies under the Prime Minister's Office, and other officials from Government House.

During the ceremony, religious aspects were led by Somdej Phra Phutthacharn, a member of the Supreme Sangha Council and Chief Abbot of the Eastern Region. The Prime Minister lit incense and candles as a tribute, marking the commencement of Buddhist prayers and rituals. The monks administered precepts and chanted prayers, with the presiding monk delivering a sermon and leading a 47-second silent meditation.

As a part of the merit-making activities, traditional offerings and food were presented to the monks, and ten sets of monastic robes were given as offerings. The Prime Minister performed symbolic acts of merit-making, including pouring water and offering prayers.

Following the religious services, alms were offered to 47 monks in front of the Government House buildings, concluding the ceremony at approximately 8:20 AM.

Separately, Mr. Sophon Saram, Speaker of the House of Representatives, presided over a similar memorial service for Princess Bajrakitiyabha. The event, attended by members of the House and parliamentary staff, involved offering alms to ten monks from Wat Saket Ratchaworamahawihan at the Parliament grounds.

In the Senate, a memorial service was conducted with Mr. Mongkol Surasatcha, President of the Senate, leading the ceremony. The event began at 7:00 AM, featuring offerings and Buddhist chanting to honor the late Princess. Alms were offered to ten monks along the Chao Phraya River, further expressing gratitude for the royal benevolence.
