Bangkok: The Prime Minister has mandated the creation of avenues for candidates deceived during civil service and local government recruitment examinations to file complaints. This move comes in response to recent scandals involving brokers misleading hopeful candidates.
According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul has signed Prime Minister's Office Order No. 256/2569. The order establishes the 'Public Service Center of the Prime Minister' as a platform for candidates who have been scammed by brokers to report illegal activities and file grievances. This initiative follows the National Anti-Corruption Commission's (NACC) efforts in collaboration with the police, which have resulted in raids and arrests related to corruption in these examinations.
The investigation has uncovered numerous pieces of evidence that may implicate government officials in these offenses. The situation has caused significant distress and damage to the public, particularly for those deceived by intermediaries or individuals falsely claiming to assist in securing selection. Therefore, publicizing and facilitating the complaint submission process is deemed necessary to restore public trust. This order is issued under the authority granted by Section 11 of the Administrative Procedure Act B.E. 2534 (1991).
The order specifies that the Public Service Center, under the Office of the Permanent Secretary to the Prime Minister, is tasked with publicizing and providing channels for affected examinees to submit their complaints. This initiative aims to support the operations of relevant agencies in accordance with legal duties and powers. Furthermore, the Permanent Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office is required to continuously report on the implementation results to the Prime Minister. The order is effective immediately, having been issued on June 27, 2026.
