Bangkok:The Prime Minister chaired a meeting of the National Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Command, emphasizing the urgency for all agencies to assist flood-affected areas. He ordered a large-scale cleanup operation and instructed provincial governors to quickly submit lists of those eligible for compensation payments to ensure prompt distribution of funds.
According to Thai News Agency, The meeting, chaired by Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, highlighted that while the flood situation is generally improving, attention must be given to severely affected areas. This includes prioritizing drainage efforts in Bangkok and the provinces of Prachinburi and Chachoengsao. Agencies were urged to utilize low tides for effective water drainage.
The Prime Minister also mandated a comprehensive cleanup operation to manage debris and damaged items, aiming to prevent obstructions in traffic and drainage systems. Governors of southern provinces were advised to prepare for the upcoming rainy season.
On the subject of disaster relief payments, the Prime Minister disclosed that the Government Savings Bank has started transferring funds to over 11,000 families who have been verified as eligible. He instructed the bank to expedite the process to ensure swift assistance delivery.
