According to Thai News Agency, the joint parliamentary session considered the Cabinet's policy statement under Article 162 of the Constitution. Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul stressed that the government would prioritize national interest and public welfare by leveraging both budgetary and non-budgetary resources, including loans, revolving funds, and private sector investment. The administration intends to ensure that budget spending aligns with legal requirements and emphasizes efficient use of funds, promoting transparency and accountability in public asset management. The strategy also encourages private sector involvement in infrastructure projects to enhance public service efficiency and reduce long-term public debt.
The Prime Minister acknowledged global uncertainties across various sectors, committing to expedite significant projects. These include measures to stimulate the economy through the "Half-Price Plus" scheme and initiatives aimed at reducing citizens' expenses. The government also plans to address the Thai-Cambodian border dispute, safeguard national sovereignty, and intensify efforts against scams and drug trafficking. Additionally, a referendum is proposed to gauge public opinion for drafting a new constitution, alongside efforts to propel the Thai economy forward.
The policy statement presented by the government encompasses five key policies spread over 21 pages. These include economic policy, foreign policy and security policy, social policy, disaster and environmental policy, and public administration and legal reform policy.
