Bangkok: The Prime Minister challenged the media to explain how the dismissal of Captain Thammanat Prompao was related to the government’s efforts to crack down on scammers. This inquiry followed accusations from Rangsiman Rome, a party-list MP for the Prachachon Party, who claimed the Prime Minister had lost public confidence.
According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Anutin Charnvirakul responded to Rome’s calls for the removal of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Thammanat Prompao, due to a perceived decline in public trust. Charnvirakul questioned the media about their narrative connecting Thammanat’s dismissal to the broader scammer issue. After posing the question, the Prime Minister abruptly ended the interview and left the scene.
