Prime Minister Ready to Allocate Debate Time Amid Opposition Criticism

Bangkok:The Prime Minister has expressed readiness to allocate government time for the opposition to engage in debate, urging Abhisit Vejjajiva to refrain from making sarcastic remarks and to maintain the esteemed image of the former Prime Minister for citizens to remember.

According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul addressed the ongoing issue of the no-confidence debate, noting that it remains unsettled. He mentioned a meeting scheduled for the afternoon to discuss the timing of the debate. The opposition is seeking additional time, and the Cabinet is willing to use its own allocated time to enhance their presentation.

Anutin emphasized that ministers should present their arguments concisely and clearly, avoiding verbose language. He countered accusations from former Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva, leader of the Democrat Party, by affirming that the Cabinet holds respect for Parliament. He stressed the importance of respect and cooperation, highlighting that there is no need for sarcastic or mocking remarks, which he views as fostering a negative culture.

Anutin stated, "Everyone here is a respected figure with a glorious past; we should preserve that glorious past for people to remember and use as an example. We should discuss things constructively, and the government is ready to cooperate in every way."
