Prime Minister Represents King at King Harald V’s Royal Funeral

Oslo: The Prime Minister, acting as the King's representative, attended the royal funeral ceremony of King Harald V amidst an atmosphere of sorrow. Members of the royal family, world leaders, and high-ranking representatives from various countries attended the ceremony.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Traisuli Traisaranakul, Secretary to the Prime Minister, revealed that, as His Majesty the King graciously appointed Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, as His Majesty's representative to attend the royal funeral ceremony of His Majesty King Harald V of Norway, today (September 9, 2026) the Prime Minister performed his duties in Oslo, Kingdom of Norway, as His Majesty's representative with the utmost respect.

The funeral ceremony for King Harald V will be held on September 9, 2026, at 1:00 PM local time at Oslo Cathedral. Prior to the ceremony, a funeral procession will move from the palace to the cathedral amidst a somber atmosphere as Norwegian citizens lined the route to pay their final respects to the long-reigning monarch.

However, Oslo is in a calm atmosphere after large numbers of Norwegians traveled to pay their respects over the past few days, with members of the royal family, world leaders, the prime minister, and high-ranking representatives from various countries attending the ceremonies.
