Nakhon Phanom: The Prime Minister discussed border trade under the One Stop Service project. The Prime Minister held a meeting on border trade according to the One Stop Service event, saying that there is no need to worry today, he is in good health.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister, chaired the meeting to monitor the border trade situation in the area at the Nakhon Phanom Customs Checkpoint. The meeting was attended by Mr. Phumtham Vejjayachai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, Mr. Suriya Juangroongruangkit, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, Mr. Pichai Naripthaphan, Minister of Commerce, Ms. Thirarat Samretwanich, Deputy Minister of Interior, Mr. Chulaphan Amornvivat, Deputy Minister of Finance, Mr. Paopum Rojanasakul, Deputy Minister of Finance, and relevant agencies.
The Prime Minister stated before the meeting that she aimed to update the work site and review the issues that had been ongoing since the tenure of Mr. Settha Thavisin, the former Prime Minister. She acknowledged the presence of some minor problems related to the One Stop Service and expressed her intention to discuss strategies to stimulate progress during the meeting.
“Today, don’t worry. I’m healthy. No one needs to notice me. I’m okay. I have to thank everyone for their concern. When I walked into the room, everyone asked if I was okay today. Today, I’m okay,” the Prime Minister reassured.
For the border trade situation in the area, the Nakhon Phanom Customs Checkpoint is prepared to address issues related to imports, exports, and people’s border crossings. In 2024, the value of border trade at the checkpoint totaled 122,542 million baht, while in the first six months of 2025, the total value was 42,909 million baht. The highest imported goods were electricity from the Lao PDR, and the highest exported goods were fresh fruits such as durian, mangosteen, and longan, with destinations in China and Vietnam. Regarding the movement of people, in 2024, there were 1,145,386 entries and exits at the Friendship Bridge 3 border checkpoint and the Nakhon Phanom Municipality Pier checkpoint. From January to March 2025, there were 308,885 entries and exits.
