Bangkok: The Prime Minister expressed a notable interest in the "Thai Helps Thai" booth during a key event aimed at discussing Thailand's strategy to tackle the ongoing global crisis. The booth, which was part of an exhibition during the "Meet the Press: 1 Month of Global Crisis - Thailand's Plan to Respond in a Changing World" event, drew the Prime Minister's attention as he inquired about the details of everyday consumer products on display, including their pricing and quality.
According to Thai News Agency, the event was organized to provide clarity on the current situation and the government's strategic responses, particularly in light of recent events in the Middle East that have significantly impacted energy prices and the global cost of living. The "Thai Helps Thai" project, showcased at the booth, is a Ministry of Commerce initiative designed to alleviate financial pressure on citizens by distributing essential goods such as rice, instant noodles, canned food, shampoo, and detergent. This initiative is set to reach all 77 provinces of Thailand between April and May, ensuring widespread access to these necessary commodities.
The Prime Minister's visit to the booth included detailed inquiries about the availability and pricing of these daily necessities. He also discussed potential discounts and the quality of the products, emphasizing the importance of cooperation from retailers to ensure the success of the project. This engagement reflects the government's commitment to mitigating the impact of global economic challenges on Thai citizens.
