Bangkok: The Ministry of Interior and the Police have been instructed to form a "couple," with a warning that anyone claiming to be acting on behalf of the Prime Minister or a Minister and calling to clear a case will have their call recorded. Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul presided over the opening of the first workshop on driving government security policies at the local level at the Challenger Hall, IMPACT Muang Thong Thani. He emphasized the need for integrated collaboration between administrative and police forces, like a "powerful partnership," to enhance public safety and well-being. He also stressed his rejection of all forms of interference and influence, and warned that anyone found making calls to settle legal cases should submit recorded audio evidence, declaring that such an act would be their final day of work.

According to Thai News Agency, the Prime Minister revealed that this collaboration builds upon the workshops held over the past two months between provincial governors and provincial police commanders to address nine key issues: land encroachment, cybercrime, nominee arrangements, money laundering, influential figures, illegal lending, tourist safety, database linkage, and drug suppression. He requested that local agencies utilize a unified dataset, or "One Data," to accurately analyze and resolve these problems within a 90-day timeframe.

At the same time, strict gun control measures were emphasized, following statistics showing that there are over 10 million firearms in the country. Currently, the Department of Provincial Administration has suspended the issuance of P.3 licenses and will not issue P.12 licenses. Furthermore, preparations are underway to draft a revision of the Firearms Act, and the police and administrative officials have been instructed to jointly set up checkpoints to intensively search for firearms and narcotics. It was affirmed that officials will operate independently and enforce the law fairly and impartially, without fear of any impersonation.
