Bangkok: The Prime Minister has issued a stern warning to airlines over the sharp increase in round-trip ticket prices from Bangkok to Hat Yai, threatening to revoke their licenses if necessary. The Ministry of Transport has launched an investigation, urging airlines not to exploit travelers during challenging times.

According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Anutin Charnvirakul, expressed his concern over the significant hike in ticket prices, which have reportedly reached tens of thousands of baht. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, is actively addressing the issue. The Prime Minister mentioned that he is aware of which airlines are involved and plans to investigate further. He emphasized that there will be no compromise if these allegations are confirmed, stating that the operators’ licenses could be revoked.

The Prime Minister highlighted the public’s distress due to the situation, noting instances where travelers were left stranded at airports. He called for ethical conduct from airline operators and insisted that revoking licenses would be straightforward if the exploitative practices continued.
