Bangkok: The Prime Minister has expressed his lack of concern over Hun Sen’s recent release of attack photos, underscoring that a ceasefire is no longer viable. He emphasized that Thailand’s true nature is being demonstrated to those with ill intentions, dismissing Hun Sen’s efforts to bolster his popularity through these images. The Prime Minister shared that even during everyday activities like eating noodle soup and rice porridge, he receives unwavering support from the public. He affirmed full backing from both the military and the government, reiterating the impossibility of a ceasefire. He praised the credibility of Thailand and commended Prime Minister Sihasak for his decisive actions, which included summoning ambassadors globally to elucidate the situation.
According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, after attending a Cabinet meeting, discussed the potential for opening a debate under Article 165 to gain parliamentary insights on national administration. He mentioned that the Cabinet would first deliberate on constitutional amendments on December 10th. Regarding the possibility of initiating such a debate, the Prime Minister questioned its necessity, citing ongoing conflicts with neighboring countries and the need for government support to bolster the military and police.
In response to inquiries about reports of Cambodia using suicide drones against officials, the Prime Minister acknowledged military awareness and the existence of a contingency plan. He stressed the importance of mutual support and advised against premature criticisms.
On addressing Cambodia’s alleged misinformation and clarifying the situation to the international community, the Prime Minister stated that Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkaew had engaged ambassadors worldwide and clarified the matter at the United Nations. He reiterated Thailand’s commitment to factual communication in diplomacy and international relations, ensuring effective global communication.
When questioned about Cambodia’s lack of contact for negotiations, the Prime Minister confirmed there had been none. He emphasized that Thailand’s actions reflect its true character and encouraged support for those safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty.
When asked about halting military operations, the Prime Minister firmly stated that it was not possible at this stage. The government has assured the military of full support to continue with the strategy.
Regarding Hun Sen’s release of photos depicting the Prime Minister and the Governor of Pailin Province as a political maneuver, the Prime Minister dismissed it, noting that public support remains strong even during mundane activities, negating the need for such publicity stunts.
