Fans eagerly waited to take photos with him before he paid respects to a replica of Luang Pho Sothon for good fortune.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, visited Khru Nai Market in Phra Pradaeng District, Samut Prakan Province. Upon arriving at the market, Mr. Anutin greeted the vendors. A vegetable vendor said, "The real deal! Everyone who comes to Khru Nai market is welcome!" and added, "We're waiting for the 'Half-Price Plus' scheme." Mr. Anutin replied, "Definitely!" The vendor then presented him with a garland of marigolds and roses and asked to shake his hand. Mr. Anutin responded, "Please pass this on to Anutin."
While a vendor at another shop said she would do her best and hoped he would become Prime Minister for another term, Mr. Anutin responded by saying, "Please remember to vote for number 37." The public also mentioned the state welfare card (poor people's card), to which Mr. Anutin replied, "I haven't forgotten."
Reporters observed that along the market, vendors and shoppers lined up to take photos with Mr. Anutin, shouting "Number 37" and saying, "We're waiting for the 'Half-Price Plus' scheme too!" As Mr. Anutin walked along, he told the public to support numbers 37 and 4, the numbers of the Bhumjaithai Party's parliamentary candidates for Samut Prakan. Supporters also cheered him on throughout the journey.
Before Mr. Anutin entered Wat Khru Nai to pay respects to the replica of Luang Pho Sothon, which is over 100 years old, for good fortune, after he finished praying, reporters asked what blessings he had asked for. Mr. Anutin replied that he didn't ask for any specific blessings; he just came to chant prayers, and that the blessings are in the prayers.
