Bangkok: The Prime Minister arrived at Government House wearing a short-sleeved shirt for a tense meeting with the Director-General of the Provincial Administration in front of the Thai Building. The Prime Minister, who had taken sick leave, was seen walking with a hunched posture as he engaged in a serious discussion with the Director-General.
According to Thai News Agency, the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Anutin Charnvirakul, arrived at Government House at 11:53 AM, having missed the morning cabinet meeting due to illness. This absence has sparked speculation about whether he was avoiding a meeting with Captain Thamanat Promphao, Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, and chairman of the advisory board of the Kla Tham Party, both of whom also skipped the meeting.
In adherence to the energy conservation policy, the Prime Minister wore a light blue short-sleeved shirt. Before departing Government House around 3:00 PM, he was seen conversing on the steps of the Thai Khu Fah building and later engaged in a five-minute serious discussion with Mr. Narucha Khosasilai, Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration.
Reporters attempted to inquire about the Prime Minister's health recovery. In response, he nodded and humorously pretended to walk with a hunched back, suggesting he was still unwell. Mr. Narucha, when questioned by reporters regarding any instructions from the Prime Minister, simply denied receiving any directions.
It has been reported that discussions included preparations for transferring responsibilities from the Internal Security Operations Command Region 4 Forward Headquarters to the Department of Provincial Administration. The southern border provinces, considered highly sensitive in terms of national security, necessitate thorough consideration before any transfer of control.
