Bangkok: Minister Surasak joined in welcoming Princess Anne as she inaugurated a football event for Thai children in Khlong Toei, along with Liverpool legend Emile Heskey, inspiring the dreams of young people. Mr. Surasak Panjaroenvorakul, Minister of Tourism and Sports, was present to welcome Her Royal Highness Princess Anne, who is the patron of Save the Children in the UK. Princess Anne visited children and youth participating in football activities in Thailand as part of her visit to a Save the Children project. She was accompanied by her husband, Sir Tim Lawrence. Also present were Mr. Prasert Chantarawong, Minister of Education; Mr. Chatchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok; and "Madam Pang" Nualphan Lamsam, President of the Football Association of Thailand, along with the Thai national football team.
According to Thai News Agency, the visit took place at Moo Baan Pattana Community School in Khlong Toei District, Bangkok. Her Royal Highness toured classrooms and met with students, creating an atmosphere of warmth and smiles. She then observed youth football activities, engaging closely with the young participants.
The event was organized in collaboration with Save the Children, the British Embassy in Thailand, and the Liverpool FC Foundation. It aimed to promote educational opportunities and youth development, using football as a tool to inspire Thai children.
Another highlight was the participation of Emile Heskey, a legendary former Liverpool striker. Heskey joined the game on the field and shared his experiences with the young participants, generating great excitement and leaving a lasting impression.
